High schools are the most important phase of students lives as it helps them shape their career in a procedure way. But do these schools and institutions provide those practical skills to be inculcated into those students? How does one get to know the practical application of those skills? How does one get to know the importance of learning those skills? It is through some fun-loving soft skills activities for students. Soft skills, also known as job-readiness skills are equally important to shape our respective careers for Future concerns.

According to the recruiters and placement agencies, soft skills are now emerging to be a necessity to obtain dream job profiles at an early age. Hard skills are important to know the job applications but soft skills accompany those hard skills to cope up with the challenges in grooming the personality and it also helps people in moldings up themselves as per the workplace environment. The idea should be given through soft skills training to students during their high school stage itself. There are various activities that will boost up the confidence of students to perform better in their respective job environments.

Some of those activities are listed here to provide efficiency in the tasks and performances by practicing those soft skills in the mode of fun activities.

This game has the importance of teamwork and recognition of the collective experience for the tasks. The game starts by getting the mess on the floor through spreading various things on the floor. It moves on to divide students into a pair of two. One of those students has to instruct the other blindfold student to pick those things which are to be collected at the end of the task. This improves the flexibility among the students and the teamwork for the task.

Monologues:

Each of the students gets a soft skill from the given list and they have to perform a monologue on the basis of the soft skills they have chosen. The monologue can be a story, informal conversation, and many other ideas to present the right way to know the importance of that particular skill.

Sell the Pen Game:

Each student is given an object to sell to other students and the bargaining system is also applied in the game. It will improve customer management skills and the skill to negotiate with people in a positive manner.

Roleplay Skits:

Students are divided into groups of 4 and given one hard skill and a soft skill from the list provided to them and they have to choose their respective roles in which the skills are to be shown as a lesson to all the other students. This will impart the lesson to be flexible among colleagues, teamwork-oriented services, effective communication skills. Many of the soft skills training programs include those activities once in their module to help students to know the importance and practical approach to the skills.

Helpline:

Students have to prepare a helpline center for those students who may come to them to share their issues and problems and their task is to be a good listener and provide them solutions to their problems and issues. This will impart good listening skills to students while performing their tasks and help them build up critical thinking skills in themselves. The personality development training should provide these activities in their modules to boost up the practical knowledge of the students.

The main reason to introduce soft skills activities for students is to provide the best possibilities to use those soft skills along with hard skills to provide top-notch performance in the respective job environment in the future. Teachers should be aware of all the pros and cons during the performance of those activities by the students that no negative feedback should be provided to them. If any, students should learn the ability to accept criticism in a positive manner.
