Our perception and understanding of things are shaped by our surroundings and experiences which culminates into beliefs and these further shape our personalities. The whole mechanism of character building depends on the influence of a person’s environment and ambiance. The emphasis on the importance of character building is necessary as it is the process and the effort that makes a person. The efforts to become a better version of oneself are not only a desire but a necessity to ensure positivity and welfare in society. One might ask why character building is important, why is it necessary or why is it given so much priority; the answer to this can be connected to the theory of global welfare and development. The realization of the fact that a person is never self-made but the amalgamation of various attributes and efforts that led to the person achieving what he/she is right now having. These attributes are by not one, but many individuals and consequences made by good personality and character trying to support each other. So, now you know, a good and supportive society requires a strong edifice or base to grow and progress.

Just like negativity, positivity is also contagious, and it all starts with self-awareness and self-discovery.
